Drive and operate fire-fighting vehicles, ambulances, rescue boats, and equipment.

Control and extinguish fires, protect lives and property, and maintain equipment.

Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls. Select hose nozzles based on the type of fire, and direct streams of water or chemicals onto the fire.

Position and climb ladders to access upper levels of buildings or aircraft, or to assist individuals from burning structures or aircraft.

Create openings in buildings or aircraft for ventilation or entry, using axes, chisels, crowbars, electric saws, core cutters, and other power tools.

Protect property from water and smoke damage using waterproof salvage covers and smoke extractors.

Administer first aid and artificial respiration to injured persons or those overcome by fire and smoke.

Communicate with superiors during fires using portable two-way radios.

Inspect buildings for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention regulations.

Perform duties related to maintaining apparatus, quarters, buildings, equipment, grounds, and fire hydrants.

Participate in drills, demonstrations, and courses in hydraulics, pump operation and maintenance, and firefighting techniques.

Issue forms to building owners listing fire regulation violations for correction.

Provide efficient surveillance of the airport for emergencies and coordinate communication and dispatch of RFFS and Aerodrome emergency agencies when needed.

Job Main Duties:

Save lives at aircraft accidents and extinguish fires.
Maintain operational readiness of resources.
Prevent emergencies through management of aerodrome hazards and risks.
Mobilize resources to respond to emergencies.
Develop oneself and improve performance.
Prioritize emergency service calls in the Incident Control Centre to ensure timely assistance.
Monitor alarm call systems to assist dispatching if needed.
Provide incident details (location, routes, responding units) to emergency response teams.
Operate dispatch communication equipment such as CAD systems, emergency radios, ELMR, telecommunication devices, and related software.
Maintain accurate incident logs, manpower reports, and response documentation.
Carry out fire watcher duties, respond to terminal building fires, investigate alarms, and decide on evacuations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Age between 19 and 30 at application time.
Valid motor vehicle operator’s permit at appointment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pass a scheduled physical exam.
Job-specific skills include adaptability, ability to perform under pressure, effective communication, customer service orientation, organizational skills, knowledge of premises and fire key points, physical fitness, safety awareness, teamwork, and supportiveness.
