Role Overview A technical role with authorisation to release aircraft back to service for which the holder is legally entitled to certify. The post supervises licensed engineers and unlicensed maintenance mechanics, and maintains the highest possible technical dispatch reliability rate while assessing the multiple factors surrounding aircraft serviceability. Key Responsibilities Ensure aircraft maintenance is performed to the highest standards and at all times in compliance with applicable and approved data. Assist in on-the-job training of mechanics and trainees in the performance of their duties. Maintain and update company-issued IT such as iPads and onboard-carried mobile phones. Handle written and verbal shift handover so the succeeding shift has continuity and safety on work in progress or pending, covering aircraft, equipment, personnel and safety. Requisition parts from stores, assure serviceability of parts, complete appropriate tags, return parts to stores and ensure required forms and documents are properly completed. Maintain and manage the electronic technical log (ETL) as an end user, including the procedure to print in the event of ETL failure. Ensure all maintenance-related documentation is properly actioned and completed. Keep up to date on all applicable regulations, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, manufacturers' service letters and other pertinent publications. Complete mandatory quarterly training such as Continuation Training, SFAR 88 fuel tank safety and Human Factors. Ensure safety precautions and safe practices are adhered to by personnel under your direction, reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Line Manager. Report safety risks during flights at outstations through the Trip Reporting and QPULSE systems. Ensure company-owned and/or operated maintenance and ground support equipment is operated and maintained in safe, operable condition; document and report all GSE defects to the GSE mechanic. Keep up to date with roster change notifications from the AIMS system, even on days off. Keep all line maintenance areas neat and orderly at all times. Act on behalf of the Line Supervisor or Line Manager as required. Input all relevant aircraft Tech Log and Work Order information, including component changes, into the TRAX computerised maintenance program. Licences & Qualifications Must be a licensed, certifying and company-approved B2 avionics engineer, preferably on Boeing aircraft. Valid EASA Part-66 aircraft maintenance licence or ICAO Type 2 licence, with Boeing 767 type endorsement. Experience Minimum 10 years' aircraft maintenance experience, excluding apprenticeship or basic training. Able to communicate assertively, effectively and diplomatically with flight crew, flight dispatchers, ground handling personnel and senior management as required.
